Buy Max The Shelter Dog
Model's Name: Nicole Rivera
Hometown: Brooklyn, New York
Pet's Name: I consider all the pit bulls at the AC& C in NYC mine. So, here are a few: Max & Nelson and more recently Duke, Malcolm, Beauty, Sheeba...
About Me:I am a pit bull and shelter dog activist. I am the author of "Max, The Shelter Dog" a children's story about a pit bull who faces death after being surrendered to a shelter by his owners. I am also the organizer of the "Kids for Pits" Campaign - the campaign goal is to collect 100,000 photos of pits loving children to send to congress as a petition from kids against BSL. It is time we show the lawmakers and the world that there are more pit bulls loving children than ever before.
Why Little Pet Project?: I think Little Pet Project is an incredible idea. Posing for LPP was and is an excellent opportunity for me to show the world that there are other types of individuals who own and love the pit bull.
Favorite Charity
or Organization:
Animal Care & Control of NYC - I love the AC&C of NYC. The staff is amazing, they love the animals and I adore all the pit bulls.
From Me
To You:
The most important thing I have ever done in my life is volunteer at my local animal shelter. Meeting a 2-year-old pit bull named Max changed my life. I have walked hugged and fallen in love with more than 200 pit bulls. And I believe that every moment I spent with them changed their lives as it did mine.

I believe that everyone can make a difference in the lives of these homeless animals, and that includes you. It is my hope that Max and I can inspire you to volunteer at your local animal shelter, adopt a shelter dog and get to know and love the pit bull - better yet, adopt a pit bull yourself. You can make a difference!
