Pet Pal Rescue of St. Petersburg is proud to announce the opening of its low cost spay/neuter clinic in the St. Pete! Pet Pal Rescue, a 501(c) 3 non- profit, no-kill shelter opened its doors in April of 2005. Pet Pal Rescue has always contributed a huge part in educating Tampa Bay residents about the importance of spaying and neutering pets to control overpopulation of pets therefore trying to cut down on the high number of euthanization.

As Pet Pal Rescue expands and continues its mission of rescuing animals from other Tampa Bay area shelters that are usually sick or injured; or animals that may, otherwise, be euthanized, this unique shelter realized the desperate need for a low cost spay/neuter clinic St. Petersburg.

The clinic is expected to open its doors in January 2008 with Dr. John Mead as clinical Director. Executive Director Jennifer Forlizzo McCraw stated "We are so thrilled to launch Pet Pal's clinic and be able to give St. Pete residents a low cost alternative to spaying and neutering their pets. We have found that many pet owners want to be responsible, but simply cannot afford the high price of the procedure. Our clinic will offer the services at a reasonable fee, and hopefully will build incentive for pet owners to sterilize their pets, therefore contributing to the decline of Tampa Bay's euthanazation rate."

As any dream of a shelter or clinic is born, funds are needed to support the cause. Pet Pal's low cost spay/neuter clinic desperately needs donations to start up and flourish. Please join Pet Pal Rescue's fight against overpopulation and euthanization by donating through www.petpalrescue.com or calling the shelter at 727-328-7-PET.

Pet Pal Rescue's mission began in Orlando twenty years ago. Pet Pal Rescue relocated its headquarters to St. Petersburg in 2002 and opened its 4,600 square-foot shelter in April 2005. Pet Pal Rescue is a no kill, non-profit organization funded entirely by private donations. The shelter's doors are open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 4:30 pm; and Saturday from 11am to 4:30 pm. Rescued animals can be seen at www.petpalrescue.com.
